December 6, 2010 | Marketing , Marshmallows | 2 Comments

A campaign of the Spanish government to encourage the use of condoms has caused controversy in the country to relate the images of condoms with a host. Released on posters, videos and billboards, the campaign repeats the same picture of a priest holding a first wafer and then a condom. The industry initiative of the young socialist party that governs the country was launched during the international week of fight against AIDS. "Blessed AIDS condom that takes the world" is the official title of the campaign.

Several religious associations considered the campaign "blasphemous." The advertisement goes against the recommendations of the Vatican does not approve the use of condoms. True Clean Towel | Know where your towel in the bath was previous ...

November 18, 2010 | Design , Marshmallows , Small Talk | 5 Comments

When you finish a bath and start to wipe, you never find yourself wondering if you are cleaning your face with the same part that has dried up her private parts the day before? Disgusting, is not it? But stop to think, it makes sense ...

What does not make much sense is the video promoting the so-called " True Clean Towel , "which at first I thought was a viral campaign, but it seems that the product actually exists, is of good quality, costs only $ 19 and has commented on websites geeks around the world. Simple but ingenious. The product will leave you with that feeling of "What do I think of that?" Or maybe "This guy stole my idea."

We're talking about a towel with a design in the shape of a body, indicating which is the top and bottom, so that you dry the parts in the same way every day. Crazy. The creation of the designer is Adam Ross, who still insisted that the towel was produced in a good and durable material.

Now back to the video that promotes the product ... disgusting!

Greenpeace vs. Facebook | Unfriend Coal

September 16, 2010 | Marketing , Marshmallows , Web | 0 Comments

They really enjoy a good fight. In a campaign started in February, Greenpeace seeks to force Facebook to change its strategy of energizing the new data center in Prineville, Oregon, with renewable energy instead of coal.

Called "Unfriend Coal" ("desamigar" coal), the campaign has managed to nearly 600,000 signatures of network users, making the Greenpeace sent a letter to the President of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, asking the world's largest social community give up the thermal energy of coal in its new data center in Oregon.

Kumi Naidoo, executive director of Greenpeace, wrote in the letter: "Other companies that use Cloud Computing choices and face challenges similar to yours when designing their data centers, but many have been investing more intelligent and clean." He cites the recent agreement Google to buy wind power from NextEra Energy for the next 20 years to feed their data centers.

Facebook has responded to the NGO by the voice of Barry Schnitt, director of the communication policy of the social network. The charge ensures that the plan of the new site takes into account the use of energy efficiently. However, Barry Schnitt does not fail to mention that Facebook, like other companies can not control all sources of energy it uses. Facebook has told Greenpeace to "fix your own house first."

Such provocation is because Greenpeace admitted that part of the operations of your own web hosting are installed in data centers powered primarily by coal and nuclear energy. The environmental advocacy group says offset all the energy applied to the power of your main server in Amsterdam and implement renewable energy where possible, including wind power for much of their servants in Washington.

But Greenpeace says that since the initial announcement, Facebook has signaled an agreement to buy energy from PacificCorp, which uses 83% of coal in its mix of energy sources. The PacifiCorp, however, says that number is lower, about 58% from natural gas (20%), water (10%) and renewable energy (10%). Greenpeace also says in his letter that Facebook plans to double the size of your data center, which means twice as energy consumption and doubling of coal consumption.

Amidst all this fighting, a video came out nice, it's worth being seen.
